Academic Content Creator

Overview

The Academic content creator is to produce marketing copy to advertise MAA’s campaigns and promote MAA’s content on social media. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with digital publishing and generating traffic towards MAA. To be an advocate for global maternal health and MAA on a wider scale through content creation and social media

Role Outline

Key responsibilities and objectives of the job:

  • To work closely with the Campaigns & Media Team to create social media schedules
  • To complete any tasks given by the Head of Campaigns and Media and provide updates at monthly meetings
  • To understand Maa Academics research in order to relay this information to the public, including OneMaa
  • To work effectively with Academics team members to carry out tasks
  • To assist MAA in reaching 10,000 followers across our social platforms
  • To create innovative methods of boosting engagement across all social media platforms amongst academic professionals
  • To attend Academics team meetings when appropriate
  • Prepare well-structured draft messages for marketing and social media purposes
  • Create academic marketing copy (e.g. text on posters, video scripts) to advertise MAA
  • To coordinate the release of monthly blog posts
  • To independently create and organise academic-orientated social media awareness campaigns
  • To have prior knowledge on the topic of global maternal health and remain updated with developments in the field and within MAA
  • To present MAA Academic team’s work in the role of an advocate for global maternal health and Maa, to the public.
  • Edit and proofread media before publication
  • To create informative briefs for graphic designers and videographers to produce effective content
  • To be committed to the team ethos and work, to carry out a reasonable amount of hours per week, towards the work required for Maa
  • To be able to critically analyse and understand academic literature in order to communicate relevant findings with the general public
  • To participate in Maa Academics team’s journal club
  • To create briefs for the website developer to ensure website content is in line with MAA’s branding and content output

Essential Experience

  • Experience in reading, understanding and critically analysing academic literature
  • Proficient in creating effective marketing copy (e.g. video text and scripts, poster text, website content)
  • Proficient in creating effective social media strategies to boost engagement
  • Ability to prioritise workload
